Where do I even begin with this post? I absolutely adore everything about this couple. We met after Ally and I connected in a Northern Colorado Brides page on Facebook. We were initially discussing an engagement shoot for them as they were thinking about a big wedding back home. Ally and Scott had just gotten engaged and had recently moved to the Denver area. We decided to meet up and discuss plans of photographing a more intimate ceremony here in Colorado. I was immediately on board with the idea that they had of keeping the day simple about their undeniable love for each other. In June we met at The Post and what I thought would be an hour of going over details and what I could offer them for their special day became the three of us laughing for over three hours. We had so much fun and laughed the entire time. I fell in love with this couple and was going to photograph their wedding whether they wanted me to or not, kidding!! These two are so much fun to be around and their love for life and each other is infectious. Ally and I chatted often leading up to their day about dresses, hair and other details. The night before their wedding I could barely sleep as I was so excited for these two!
Scott and Ally have that rare kind of love that shows in everything they do for each other! I spent the day with Ally and she was so calm and showed me all of the cute notes they write to each other. She was full of emotion as she finalized the vows she wrote. The trueness of the day settled in as she started to put her dress and she realized that her dream of marrying Scott was only minutes away. Scott had a relaxing day of enjoying some golf and showed up The Sunshine House ready to marry his best friend. He was so much fun, as I knew he would be, as we shot his getting ready photos. I think GQ would welcome him with open arms. We chatted a bit about how stunning Ally looked and how ready he was. Ally and Scott opted to do a few photos with out being able to see each other. We carefully arranged the shots so that they weren’t seen!
These two picked the top of the summit in Boulder to get married and it was beyond breathtaking. Scott’s face lit up when he saw Ally walking thru the trees. I don’t think anything else in the world was going on as she walked to ‘ A Thousand Years’ I have heard this song so many times and you could not convince me that it was written for her and that moment. The couple exchanged their written vows in a ceremony that had everyone stopping to watch.
We had so much fun watching them dance to “Yours” by Russel Dickerson on the edge of the mountain! I do not think that moment is even anything little girls can even dream of!!!!
I came to life when I first kissed you
the best me has his arms around you
you make me better than I was before
Thank God I’m YOURS
The night ended as we went down to Pearl St. for them to cut their cake and enjoy some fun moments along the way.
Scott and Ally,
