Natural newborn photography is perfect for families who want beautiful photos of their new baby without relying on elaborate props or a long list of perfectly posed setups.
Instead, I follow your baby’s lead.
Some babies love being wrapped. Others want their hands by their face, stretch their legs every chance they get, or are perfectly happy staying awake and looking around. After more than 14 years of photographing newborns, I’ve learned that working with those little preferences instead of against them creates some of the most beautiful photographs.
You don’t need to know how to pose or worry about what you’re supposed to do with your baby in front of the camera.
I’ll guide you through everything.
Sometimes that’s simply holding your baby against your chest. Other times it’s an older sibling leaning in for a quick kiss or everyone cuddled together while your baby settles.
The goal isn’t to make every family look exactly the same. It’s to give you beautiful photographs while still allowing your own connection to come through.

Baby-led photography simply means your baby’s comfort helps determine how the session unfolds.
There is plenty of time for feeding, soothing, wrapping, snuggling, and settling. If your baby loves a particular position, we can work with it. If they don’t, we move on.
Some babies sleep through almost everything. Others want to see exactly what’s going on.
Both are completely normal.
I’ll still gently guide your baby and make small adjustments to create beautifully finished portraits, but there is never a reason to force a pose that isn’t working for them.

This is something I think surprises parents.
Natural newborn photography doesn’t mean I simply put your baby down and hope for the best.
I’ll adjust tiny hands, turn your baby toward the light, smooth wraps, guide how you’re holding them, and pay attention to all of the little details that make the final photograph feel polished.
The difference is that I’m working around what your baby is naturally comfortable doing rather than trying to move through the same posing list with every newborn.ts.

You also don’t need to shop for your baby’s newborn session.
I have a collection of custom hand-knit outfits, wraps, blankets, and soft layers available in the studio. Everything is chosen in neutral, natural tones that photograph beautifully without taking the attention away from your baby.
For parents and siblings, I’ll help you coordinate what to wear before your session so everything works together without looking overly matched.
My goal is to make this part easy. You already have enough to think about with a new baby.

My newborn studio is located in Loveland and welcomes families throughout Fort Collins and Northern Colorado.
The studio is warm, private, and prepared before you arrive, with everything we need for your baby’s session already here.
There is plenty of time built in for feeding and settling, and nothing depends on your baby following a perfect schedule.
You can come in, get comfortable, and let me take care of the rest.

I recommend reserving your newborn session during your second or early third trimester.
We don’t choose the actual photography date until your baby arrives. Instead, I reserve space around your due date so we have flexibility if your baby decides to come earlier or later than expected.
Most newborns are photographed within the first few weeks after birth, but every baby and recovery is different.

One of my favorite parts of photographing newborns is that no two sessions ever unfold exactly the same way.
Your baby may sleep through almost everything. They may give us ten minutes of wide-open eyes. They might love being wrapped or decide they’d much rather stretch.
Those little differences are part of their story.
And years from now, I want you to look back and recognize your baby in these photographs — not just a newborn pose you’ve seen a hundred times before.
