There’s something truly powerful about photographing newborn twins. The bond they share from the very beginning is unlike anything else, and capturing those early connections is always an honor. Recently, I photographed a beautiful boy-girl twin session at my Denver-area studio, and it was everything I love about newborn photography—calm, connected, and filled with quiet moments that speak volumes.
For this session, we kept everything neutral with a soft, modern aesthetic. A hint of mustard added a warm touch to our all-cream setup, creating a cozy palette that kept the focus on these two perfect babies. Their tiny features, the way they curled into one another, and the peaceful way they settled together reminded me why I love working with families of multiples.

If you’re expecting twins, planning ahead is essential. Most twins arrive a few weeks early, so I recommend reserving your session during your second trimester. When you book with me, we’ll pencil in your due date, and then finalize your session date once the babies arrive—usually within the first three weeks after birth.
Newborn photography is always baby-led, but with twins, we take even more care to move at their pace. Feeding, soothing, and posing can take a bit longer with two babies, and I always build in that extra time so nothing feels rushed. You’ll never feel like you’re on the clock.
Because I take a limited number of newborn clients per month, you’ll have the flexibility you need—whether your twins arrive early, spend time in the NICU, or need to delay their session a bit.

A twin session is never just a double version of a standard newborn session. It’s its own experience. While we still focus on soft, simple posing and those beautiful newborn details, we’re also looking for the moments where the babies naturally connect.
For these boy-girl twins, we started with cozy cream wraps and layered hand-knit textures in neutral tones. We brought in just a touch of mustard to warm up the setup, but kept everything minimal so their bond would shine through in every image.
Throughout the session, the twins stayed nestled together—sometimes holding hands, sometimes just leaning into one another like they’d been that way forever. It was calm, unhurried, and exactly how I believe newborn photography should feel.
One of the most common questions I get is how to style twins—especially a boy and girl. Do you go pink and blue? Should they match? My approach is always to create harmony, not duplication.
For this session, I used creamy wraps, textured layers, and soft neutrals to give the gallery a timeless feel. Each baby was styled individually, with slight variations in texture or wrap style, but always kept within the same palette. The goal is to highlight their connection while still allowing their individuality to come through.
I offer a full selection of knitwear, swaddles, and cozy accessories in muted tones, so you don’t need to bring anything. Whether you prefer a clean, modern look or something a little more layered and cozy, everything you need is here.

Many parents ask if there’s time for family photos during a twin session—and the answer is always yes.
In this session, we photographed each baby individually, then posed them together in a variety of ways. We ended the session with beautiful parent portraits: each baby in their arms, both together, and images that captured the quiet love in this new season of life.
These first weeks with your twins will pass in a blur. My goal is to make sure you walk away with tangible memories—images that reflect how your babies fit into your arms, how they looked at each other, and how much love already surrounds them.

After your session, you’ll receive a proofing gallery filled with softly lit, beautifully composed images to choose from. Your gallery may include:
Once you select your favorite images, each one is carefully hand-edited and delivered through your selected package. Many families with twins opt to design heirloom albums or create wall galleries that tell their story from the very beginning.
My Denver-area newborn photography studio is designed for comfort, safety, and simplicity. It’s fully stocked with everything needed for twins—including wraps, props, outfits, and cozy seating for parents during the session. You just bring the babies—I’ll take care of the rest.
