One of my favorite parts of this work is seeing families return as they grow. This was my second newborn session with this family, after first photographing them during their maternity session.
Sweet Wyatt was the star of the session, and he looked so much like his older brother and sister—a perfect mix of both. We included Mom, Dad, and siblings throughout the session, along with plenty of images focused on Wyatt and all those tiny newborn details.

For Wyatt’s session, his mom chose shades of blue and cream. These soft tones made his delicate features stand out. Minimal props kept the focus on Wyatt’s sweet face and tiny details. These are the little features that change so quickly in the first few weeks.
The studio is all about comfort. I make sure the studio is warm, cozy, and ready for newborns. I provide wraps and layers in many colors. This helps parents match the photos to their home or nursery.
For Wyatt, we picked wraps that matched his nursery perfectly. I often recommend including at least one all-cream setup. Neutral tones keep the focus on baby and create a timeless look that works beautifully alongside the rest of the gallery.
The feel of the studio is carefully planned to ensure the baby feels at ease. Newborns are so sensitive, and it’s important to create a calming space. This way, Wyatt could stay calm and relaxed while I worked. Parents often comment on how smoothly the session goes, and that’s my goal every time.

We also used my lifestyle area for family photos. This space is perfect for natural, relaxed poses. Wyatt’s parents joined in for some special moments, cradling him with so much love.
There’s something so heartwarming about watching parents with their newborn. Their joy and quiet awe shine through in every photo.
These images highlight the unique connection between Wyatt and his parents. These images become a way to look back on how small Wyatt was and what those first weeks together actually felt like.

Newborn photos give you a way to hold onto the tiny details that change so quickly—little hands, sleepy expressions, soft hair, and all the features that are uniquely theirs.
Simple colors and minimal setups keep the attention on those details rather than trends or elaborate props. It’s one of the reasons I’m drawn to neutral tones, soft textures, and classic newborn portraits that can sit beautifully alongside family images for years to come.

Before each session, I talk with parents about the colors and overall look they’re drawn to, along with which family members they’d like to include.
The process is meant to feel smooth and enjoyable. I understand how busy life can be with a new baby. That’s why I handle all the details, from wraps and props to guiding the poses. Parents can relax and enjoy the experience while I take care of everything.
Photographing Wyatt after already documenting this family during another important season made this session especially meaningful. From his tiny details to the images with his parents and siblings, the final gallery tells the story of what their family looked like in those first weeks with him.
